Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening or teeth bleaching is the process of lightening the colour of human teeth. All teeth will whiten, however we cannot guarantee how white they will become based on many factors such as personal dental hygiene, age, genetics etc.. Average results are 2-12 shades brighter. We use a hybrid gel, which is manufactured in the USA, and is FDA approved. This gel is more gentle and safe for the teeth. You will experience zero to minimal sensitivity.

TEETH-WHITENING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will this cause sensitivity?

No. In clinical trials, only 1% of participant experienced mild sensitivity for 24 hours.
Many patients who undergo whitening treatment experience some level of dentinal sensitivity that can interfere with their ability to complete treatment. Some patients describe a tingling sensation; others may describe an aching feeling, but usually resolves completely in a short period. The most commonly agreed upon cause of dentinal hypersensitivity is the hydronamic theory, or fluid movement in the dentinal tubules. Some researchers believe the cause is the penetration of hydrogen peroxide into the structure of the tooth, resulting in agitation of the nerve receptors. Light and heat may also be factors which count as irritants. We use desensitizing agents before the procedure to minimize tooth sensitivity.

Is it painful?

NO! All of our kits include a professional, cool LED light, which is safe to use on exposed soft tissue. This in combination with our all natural gum protection swabs will prevent client from developing any discomfort during their session.

What product do we use?

We use our own brand, which was made in the United States and is FDA approved.

Do you guarantee that my teeth will whiten?

The whitening process depends on numerous factors such as age, genetics, previous dental care, and personal dental hygiene. In addition, habits such as smoking and drinking coffee play a major role in surface staining. All teeth will whiten, however we cannot guarantee how white they will become based on the above factors.

Do implants, veneers and filling whiten?

Unfortunately, teeth whitening only affects the natural tooth structure, hence an artificial tooth will not change. I would still go ahead with your teeth whitening to get your natural teeth the colour you want, then your dentist can colour match perfectly.

How long does the whitening last?
The whitening last six months. Personal habits play a huge role in the longevity of the whitening.

Do I need to be a dental professional to offer this service?

No. Teeth-Whitening is considered a cosmetic, non-invasive dental procedure approved by the FDA and Health Canada.
